The Working Illustrator’s Network (WIN) of the Carolinas Region exists to connect all illustrators on a regional, local and professional level. Our hope is to offer a go-to “hub” to find inspiration and community through challenges, workshops, sketchcrawls and more.  Your input and participation are key to make this endeavor a success!

WIN Illustrator Marketing Initiative – Postcards

Thanks to all who participated in the Postcard Challenge in 2015!  There is one more opportunity this year to have your postcard added to the Carolinas Postcard Gallery.  Please email a JPEG copy (72 dpi) by December 12th to: Carolinas-IC@scbwi.org.  We will all share the postcard gallery link on Twitter, Facebook and other social media outlets.

The “Four Out The Door Postcard Challenge” will continue in 2018!  You will no longer have to mail in a hard copy, but it is strongly encouraged that you print and mail your postcards! The target dates to email your postcards are April 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1.  Simply email a JPEG copy (72 dpi) of your postcards to Carolinas-IC@scbwi.org.

WIN Facebook Group

Carolinas Illustrators can join our online community on the WIN Facebook group!  We share lots of information, swap ideas, post work, share good news, etc.  Search for ‘Carolinas SCBWI Working Illustrators Network’ and, since this is a closed group, you will need to ask to join.

10 Things to Know When Working with an Illustrator

If you’ve written or are writing a picture book, you’re probably quite excited about the final product, about holding that published book in your hands. You’re probably already thinking about the other main component of the book—the illustrations. I have aimed here to include the least you need to know when working with an illustrator and navigating the pre-publishing process. – Written by Marlo Garnsworthy.
